2nd INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT OF CITTASLOW FROM RIVERS AND LAKES

The 1st International Summit of River and Lake Cittaslow was held on June 23, 2023, in Polesine Zibello, in the province of Parma, Italy. This event brought together representatives from various Cittaslow towns located along freshwater bodies, with participants from countries such as South Korea, China, Poland, Germany, Turkey, and the Netherlands.

The main goal of the summit was to discuss challenges related to climate change, such as global drought, and explore opportunities for sustainable local development. Key topics included sustainable tourism, environmental conservation, promotion of cycling mobility, and biodiversity protection.

During the summit, Mauro Migliorini, President of Cittaslow, emphasized the importance of a balanced and sustainable management of water resources, advocating for a natural reconversion of watercourses. Meanwhile, Pier Giorgio Oliveti, Secretary-General of Cittaslow, announced that discussions and exchanges of experiences will continue with a second edition of the Summit in 2025.
